About the Golde Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) consists of writers who cover the film industry, but are affiliated with publications outside of the United States. HFPA annually recognizes and celebrates excellence in dramatic film making with an award named the Golden Globe. Eligible films are those released between January 1 and December 31 of the Calendar year. The annual Golden Globe award celebration is held in January and is the third player of the most watched awards in the entertainment industry. In 1951, a separate category was created for motion picture musicals and comedies.
